Technologies for Recovery, Separation and Materials Performance
Our technology activities address two industrial needs: recovering valuable constituents from difficult feedstocks and developing materials that perform under demanding operating conditions. The founder’s portfolio includes mineral-derived and magnetic adsorbents, biosorbents, treatment and processing reactors, catalysts, protective materials and coatings, and advanced earthing backfill.
Recovery technologies focus on selective separation, impurity removal and the potential regeneration and reuse of treatment materials. Materials development addresses properties such as catalytic activity, wear resistance, corrosion resistance and electrical performance, according to the intended application.
Each opportunity is assessed against its own evidence, development stage and deployment requirements. Commercial routes may include joint development, licensing, technology transfer or the assignment of defined technology and intellectual-property rights, with ownership, rights and responsibilities established for each opportunity.
Technology Focus Areas
Selective Recovery & Separation
Recovery and purification of valuable constituents from complex ores, brines, tailings and secondary resources. Development focuses on separation selectivity, impurity control, product requirements and the suitability of the process for its intended feedstock.
Adsorbents & Functional Materials
Mineral-derived and magnetic adsorbents, biosorbents and other functional materials for treatment and resource recovery. Evaluation considers adsorption performance, selectivity and the potential for regeneration and reuse under relevant operating conditions.
Treatment & Processing Reactors
Reactor concepts for mineral processing and industrial treatment applications. Development connects reaction chemistry with equipment requirements, operating parameters and the evidence needed to assess scale-up.
Catalysts & Protective Materials
Catalysts, advanced materials and protective coatings for demanding industrial applications. Performance is assessed against the intended use, including catalytic activity, wear resistance and corrosion resistance.
Advanced Earthing Backfill
Functional backfill materials for electrical earthing applications. Assessment considers electrical performance, installation requirements and behaviour under relevant service conditions.
Development & Validation
Each technology is assessed individually. Evidence from one material, feedstock or operating condition is not assumed to establish performance across other applications.
Development programmes connect laboratory investigation with representative testing, pilot engineering and application-specific evaluation. The next stage is determined by the available evidence and the technical questions that remain unresolved.
Intellectual Property & Commercialisation
The founder’s technology portfolio provides a foundation for further development and collaboration. For each opportunity, the relevant intellectual property, ownership and rights available for commercial use are established before an agreement is concluded.
Potential routes include commissioned development, joint development, licensing, technology transfer and the assignment of defined technology rights. Agreements specify the scope of use, responsibilities of each party and ownership of any new intellectual property arising from the work.
